As long as their parents are awake, sometimes children want to stay up but they do need much more sleep than their parents. What a child in school needs is between nine and twelve hours of sleep every night. To be ready to participate properly in school activities, they need at least nine hours. A lot of children out there do not get this amount of sleep and many of these do not do as well in school because of this. Children will wake up easily if they are able to get enough sleep. All parents who have trouble getting their children to wake up should know that their children need more sleep.

Also, children should be able to fall asleep quickly. In case they toss and turn for more than thirty minutes before they fall asleep, then it could mean that there is a problem. Staying awake throughout the day if what children should be able to do if they are getting enough and proper sleep at night.
